About UsMinuteman Media distributes sound, progressive, and concise commentary at no cost to places where it’s sorely needed: small-circulation newspapers nationwide. These newspapers subscribe because they don't get such material anywhere else and they appreciate our publication-ready content. Our weekly editorial package helps balance the conservative columns that flood heartland dailies and weeklies. Our weekly packages include three columns, four op-eds, and a cartoon. Our commentary centers on five core areas: Peace/Security, Environment/Health, Economy/Business, Human Rights/Democracy, and Food/Farming. Minuteman Media, founded in 1998, recently became a project of the Institute for Policy Studies, a progressive multi-issue think tank that for many years had published op-eds through this initiative. IPS will introduce a new website design and other changes, but we’re committed to continuing Minuteman Media’s tradition of delivering timely, thoughtful, and well-edited commentary every week. Please excuse any bumps in the road and contact editor Emily Schwartz Greco info[AT]minutemanmedia.org if you have questions or suggestions about our service. Our WritersAbout 30 think tanks and advocacy groups write op-eds for us regularly. Minuteman Media founder William A. Collins, the former mayor of Norwalk Connecticut, prominent commentator Jim Hightower, and former Des Moines Register columnist Donald Kaul contribute every week, as does cartoonist Ben Dib. Others, including some freelance writers, contribute once in a while. For a list of "Partner Organizations" and links to their web sites, click here. These papers reach over 20 million homes. The vast majority of these newspapers have circulation of less than 50,000. We’re redesigning our site to encourage more websites to run our content and we welcome editors at web-based sites to run it, as long as they cite us as the source.SubscribeIf you'd like to receive our weekly editorial package, just email info[AT]minutemanmedia.org to let us know who you are.
